1) Is the company within my circle of competency?
2) Do I like the company financial ratios, cash flow, ROE etc?
3) Looks at the Industry in which the company operates in and the management of the company
4) is the stock price well below what it is worth?
Whitney advice to the Google employees is to buy Index funds and to hang on to their stock options. He feels 80% of the participants in the market get it wrong.
